About this event
Newton at Home will be offering classes in Nia Joyful Movement for older adults Please join us for an introductory workshop on Tuesday, November 19, 11:00 -11:45 a.m.
This workshop will introduce you to Nia, a movement and lifestyle practice based on dance, yoga, and Tai Chi. Music from many genres (e.g., pop, classical, jazz, Broadway) provides the inspiration to choose movement that feels good. The purpose is to feel better and be stronger in body, mind, emotions and spirit. Classes are ideal for older adults at all levels of fitness, including those with physical limitations or acute injuries. The program can be done seated or standing.
The instructor, Suzanne Cohen, is a retired psychologist. She has lived in Newton for over 45 years. Since 1998 she has been teaching classes in The Nia Technique, both in person and on zoom. Suzanne can be reached at suzannecohen88@gmail.com. Suzanne is also a vetted volunteer of Newton at Home.
To register for this free introductory workshop please call the office at 617-795-2560 or email info@newtonathome.org. Meets on Zoom.
