  Volunteer Training Schedule 

These training sessions provide an introduction to Newton at Home and our volunteer program.


Approximately 95% of NAH member requests are filled by our dedicated volunteers.


Volunteers serve when it is convenient for them.


Training consists of one 1.5 hour seminar and is mandatory for all new volunteers.

 
 
Training sessions are designed to:

  • Orient volunteers to the mission, vision, principles and services of Newton at Home
  • Clarify the roles and responsibilities of a volunteer
  • Discuss scenarios that prepare for direct service opportunities with members
  • Provide information that will be helpful in working with an older adult population

Other volunteer training sessions will be scheduled as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Unless otherwise noted, these sessions will be held at the NAH office located in the lower level Annex Conference Room (Garden level) of the Scandinavian Living Center, 206 Waltham Street, West Newton 02465.  Parking is on-street.
