NAH is looking for volunteers who will take NAH members to and from appointments, activities, the airport, supermarket, and other destinations throughout the area. Drive only when convenient for you. Our drivers tell us they enjoy the opportunities of meeting our interesting members and the members are very appreciative of our drivers.
NAH is looking for volunteers who can help with small handyman services around the house. This includes installing smoke detectors and replacing batteries, changing high light bulbs, and assessing jobs to see if an electrician or plumber is needed.
Newton At Home is seeking volunteers with experience in development and/or marketing to help the organization diversify its revenue. Building on the organization's success, raising money from individual donors and in-kind contributions from local businesses; we are seeking volunteers who would be interested in 1) developing and helping to design a plan for business sponsorships; 2) researching and implementing ideas for one or more fundraising events; 3) write fundraising letters and collateral. This is a great opportunity to meet and work with a dedicated and talented group of community leaders while making a difference in the lives of our members.
Interviewer for NAH’s Member Satisfaction Survey
NAH is looking for a volunteer to administer the Member Satisfaction Survey. The volunteer will be asked to call a select number of NAH members yearly to gain a better understanding of what we do well and where we can improve. This is a finite project that is usually done in the Fall and the volunteer will report to our Executive Director. Volunteering in this role is an excellent way to get to know NAH and the many additional ways to get involved.
Marketing Communications Writers and Public Relations Writers
Help Newton at Home increases its visibility by joining the Marketing and Communications Committee.
Volunteers are required to have in-depth experience in at least some of these areas: collateral materials (brochures, flyers, etc.), promotional letters, direct mail, press releases or feature stories. A public relations background that includes writing and placing stories is desired, as well as experience working with graphic design professionals. Good photography skills are another plus.
Approximately 5 hours per week, with one 2-hour meeting a month.
Nourish Program Volunteers
NAH is looking for volunteers to work with the Coordinator of Partnerships and Volunteers on the Nourish programs. These include food, bakery and flower deliveries (weekly) and Home Again (our partnership with The Second Step). This is a great opportunity for a volunteer who would like to manage a project and interact with other volunteers, members and in the community.
Time commitment is 1-3 hours per week and very flexible.
Coordinator for Nourish program flower deliveries
NAH is looking for a volunteer to coordinate the weekly deliveries of flower arrangements to 1-3 of our members. Every week a generous NAH donor creates 1-3 (depending on the week) flower arrangements. These arrangements usually bring great joy to the recipient. The Flower Delivery Coordinator arranges for 1-3 members to receive the arrangements, and for volunteers to deliver them. This volunteer role is an important part of our Nourish program and reports to the Coordinator of Partnerships and Volunteers. (Time commitment: approximately one hour per week, year round. Can be done from a distance if volunteer spends part of the year out of town.)
Health and Wellness Committee Members
We are seeking volunteers to help create, plan and manage health related programs/forums for Newton at Home members and the general public as well as small group fitness activities such as walking groups, yoga classes, and seasonal excursions such as kayaking and hiking trips. Committee members need not necessarily participate in these activities but would be willing to help organize the events.
